Campus Advocacy Specialist - Hillel BC
JOB OVERVIEW:

Hillel BC is in search of an experienced and knowledgeable individual for the role of Campus Advocacy Specialist (Israel Education and University Relations Specialist). This is a new position for Hillel BC. This position requires a solid background in university operations, a knack for navigating university politics, and expertise in Israel education. This vital full-time role offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and some flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:

Foster positive relationships and navigate university politics to advance Israel advocacy initiatives effectively.

Utilize your understanding of higher education operations to streamline processes and enhance the impact of advocacy efforts on campus.

Take charge of developing and implementing engaging Israel-focused educational programs for diverse student audiences.

Thrive in high-pressure situations, responding effectively to challenges and contributing to strategic solutions.

Develop and execute advocacy plans with a proactive approach to address obstacles and identify impactful engagement opportunities.
Requirements:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as political science, international relations, or higher education administration.

Proven experience as an Israel educator, demonstrating a deep understanding of Israel's history, culture, and geopolitical landscape.

Familiarity with higher education operations, policies, and procedures, with a track record of navigating university structures.

Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure, contributing to a positive and resilient work environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex ideas and engaging diverse stakeholders.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Lead Campus Professional will work and strive to fulfill Hillel BC’s mission statement of promoting Jewish life on campus and beyond, providing a warm, welcoming environment where students, as well as non-students, between the ages of 18 to 30, are able to grow religiously, socially, and ethically.

The Lead Campus Professional will have the following responsibilities:

Fulfilling Hillel BC’s mission statement of promoting Jewish life on campus and beyond, providing a warm, welcoming environment where students, as well as non-students, between the ages of 18 to 30, are able to grow religiously, socially and ethically

Assisting the Manager and other staff in designing, budgeting and implementing all Hillel’s social, cultural, religious and Israel programs in the Lower Mainland
-
Maintaining and enhancing student database and contact information
-
Attending to the specific needs of Hillel BC’s satellite campuses (including but not limited to; Hot Lunches, Shabbat dinners, Holiday programming)

Assisting Hillel BC programming staff at UBC as requested
-
Attending and helping with events at the Victoria Hillel branch when needed.

Attending all Hillel BC programs and representing Hillel BC at community events
-
Assisting with development, event marketing and fund-raising initiatives organized by the students or the Board of Directors

Assisting with the regular website and newsletter communication pieces in conjunction with management staff as needed
-
Coordinating with students and staff on all aspects of Hillel BC operations, including implementing the needs of the student boards

Coordinating resources and assisting with city-wide programs with other Hillel BC staff

Promoting short-and-long-term Israel programs for MASA and Taglit-Birthright
-
Assisting with any assignments delegated by the Director of Student Life, Assistant Executive Director or the Executive Director related to Hillel BC’s business as needs arise

Salary range: $45,000-$51,000 annually
