Lead Campus Professional (Emerging Campuses)
Zoe Mandell is excited to join the team as a new Lead Campus Professional for Hillel BC at SFU, Langara, and Emily Carr University. Zoe is a proud Emily Carr University alumna with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a passion for art and education. She first connected with Hillel as a student and now dreams of passing on that same impact to other Jewish students in the future. She spent four summers as a camp counsellor at the Jewish summer Camp Chi in Wisconsin, two of which as an arts and crafts director. She survived lockdown by teaching art and piano lessons from home and can’t wait to get back to making in-person connections. Zoe’s passion for Jewish education began when she first visited Israel in 2014, returned with Birthright in 2018, and eventually studied as an exchange student at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem in 2019. Connecting with her Israeli family sparked a passion to bring that sense of belonging home by creating community for Jewish youth in the diaspora.
Zoe was born and raised in Delta B.C. and spent her whole life in love with the scenery here between the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. She is an artist, a storyteller, and a dreamer, and she loves to laugh. When she’s not busy drawing, singing, making food, or making friends, you might find her hiking a mountain, or perhaps painting one. Zoe’s life goal is to make the world a better place somehow and is thankful that with Hillel BC she can be a part of something great.
